Trip Start

Our adventure begins in Bangkok, Thailand on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at the Suvarnabhumi Ville Airport Hotel (see Our Accommodations).

Guests will arrive throughout the day; we'll meet up at the hotel at 4pm, review our itinerary and confirm logistics for our early-morning flight (included in your trip price) the following day to Paro, Bhutan.

Arrival Airport

The best arrival airport is Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK). There are daily direct flights to BKK airport from Europe and Asia, including London Heathrow (11hr 30min), Paris CDG (11hr 20min), Frankfurt (10hr 30min), Dubai (6hr 10min), Hong Kong (2hr 50min) and other major Asian hubs. Currently there are no direct flights from the United States to Bangkok.

Consider arriving in Bangkok one full day prior to the start of our trip in case of unforeseen circumstances or travel delays. The following day after arrival, we take an early-morning flight to Bhutan (organized and paid for by Modern Adventure). If you miss this group flight to Bhutan, you are responsible for additional change fees and costs associated with obtaining a new flight.

Transfer from Airport

It's a short taxi ride from Bangkok's BKK airport to our hotel and meeting point: Suvarnabhumi Ville Airport Hotel (see Our Accommodations).

Pre-Arrival Accommodations

One night in Bangkok is included in your trip price. If you plan to arrive earlier in Bangkok, we recommend staying at Suvarnabhumi Ville Airport Hotel (see Our Accommodations), which is also our meeting spot on Day One. Please contact the hotel directly to book, and let them know you will be on a trip with Modern Adventure.

If you prefer to stay a few nights in central Bangkok, we recommend Bangkok Publishing Residence or the VIE Hotel Bangkok, two modern and comfortable choices within easy walking distance of restaurants and shops.

Trip End

Our trip ends—after 13 adventure-packed days—in Paro, Bhutan, on Tuesday, March 15, 2022. After breakfast on this day, we'll organize a group transfer to Paro's airport for our return flight to Bangkok (included in your trip price).

Departure Airport

Book your onward flights from Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK), the same airport where we started our trip.

If you’re departing from Bangkok this day, your flight from BKK airport should be scheduled to depart at 4pm or later. If your flight leaves at an earlier time, we cannot ensure you will make it to BKK airport on time.

If you plan on departing Bangkok at a later date, it is your responsibility to arrange transportation from your hotel to BKK airport.
